Abhinav Bindra Wins GOLD makes India proud
Indian shooting star 25 years old Abhinav Bindra wins India’s first ever individual gold at the Olympic Games by winning the men’s 10m air rifle event.
Bindra finished with 700.5 points. Zhu, the 2004 Gold Medalist from Athens Olympics, had 699.7 points. Hakkinen got the bronze with 699.4 points. He scored 596 (fourth) in the qualifying round and out-scored all other shooters in the finals with a round of 104.5.
Congrats to Abhinav Bindra for taking Indian shooting sports to another new level. This is India’s first gold medal since 1980.
It is India’s first Individual Gold Medal ever in Olympics. It is a great day for all of us.
