McAfee VirusScan Plus offers complete PC security and protection from viruses, malicious codes and spyware. It includes VirusScan, Anti-Spyware, Firewall and SiteAdvisor.
Free McAfee Virus Scan Plus 2008 License for 1 Year
- To get your free McAfee VirusScan Plus 2008 license, visit the promotion page
- Check the “I certify I am employee of the Department of Defense” box, select any of the departments from below and click Sign Up.
- Enter your first name, last name, email address, password and click the “I Agree” button to proceed. Note: Your password must contain at least one letter and one number.
- After you create your account, click Go to My Account button.
- Under My Protection Products, you will see McAfee VirusScan Plus 1 year subscription link. Download that.
- Again click “I Agree” and download the 1.16MB setup file.
Now enjoy one year free subscription of McAfee VirusScan Plus 2008!

@Chetan, Symantec is no more a good antivirus.
I had tried a version of this sometime back (not sure if it was 2007 version) and it expired. After that whatever I did, I couldn’t upgrade it…
But it was a good FREE tool. If you want the best virus scanner stay away from Norton and McAfee. You may go for Kaspersky or BitDefender.
