Speed Up Downloads using Download Accelerator Plus

I know that not every internet user uses Download Manager to download files, music or videos.

There are few disadvantages of not using Download Manager:

    1. Download speed is slow.
    2. If Download stops for some reason, then you have to start all over again.

I have been using DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) from a long time. I recommend windows users to install Download Accelerator Plus and start using it.

    1. I used to have Download managers last time (GetRight, Free Download Manager) but since I have an ADSL connection, I don’t find it necessary to use it anymore 😀

    2. venkat says:

Nihar As you mentioned there are always problem with these downloaders as they don’t support resume ,this is not he case with IDM it’s very fast and resume option also available.

    3. Nihar says:

@Mike, I also used GetRight. Agreed, It is not absolute must if you are on ADSL connection

@Venkat, I didn’t mention that DAP has the problm. DAP has resume option enabled.

    4. Arun says:

Nihar, I remember u talking abt DAP when we were in college!

    5. I thought people are going slow on programs such as DAP as bandwidth is getting cheaper and better. Moreover, the modern browsers themselves do a lot of download optimizing.

I was an avid fan of DAP sometime back.. will check out the new release again, out of curiosity, that is.

    6. Atniz says:

I’m using it with Firefox and very happy with it. Sometimes, when we have some other important works that need internet bandwidth, we can pause the download to give way for our work. That is an additional point of advantages.

    7. Initially I don’t really believe that is a program to boost download speed. But after using it, I am surprised that it actually works. Almost 200% faster when not using DA. Definitely a great program.

    8. Nihar says:

@Arun, yes.you are right. still remember those days.

@Ajith, yeah. But not everyone are on a very good high speed connection.

@Atniz, thanks for mentioning the point. I will add it now.

@Wei Liang, It speeds up the download because, it gets the files in chunks with simultaneous connections.

    9. Ben Pei says:

I don\’t have much good experience and belief for these accelerators. Hope this is a good one..

    10. Deca says:

      My favorite is FlashGet

    11. Broadband has negated the need for a download manger for me. I got 3G and ADSL, life is good! I vividly remember the days of hours long downloads crashing 80% through, and sure wish I had a download manager back then.

    12. Nihar says:

@Ben Pei, It is a very good piece of s/w

      @gengen, Thanks.

@Deca, I have also used Flashget before.

@Jacques Seoman, I agree with you. If you have very good internet speed then there is no need of Download Manager.

    13. Chetan says:

i am using IDM, ie Internet Download manager, I think IDM is most popular and widely used , just the problem is that its paid software.

    14. yashu says:

I am using free download manager which is completely free and its better than DAP

    15. Nihar says:

@Chetan, I have also used it. But i like DAP the most.

@yashu, Thanks for the info. Let me try that.

    16. I generally don’t find much help from accelerators, but this one worked great. Thanks!

    17. How about Orbit Downloader compare to DAP?
