There is a good news for all bloggers who blog on Wordpress Platform. WordPress 2.7 has finally been released!
Though there was Wordpress 2.7 Beta version was available, i didn’t upgrade my blog. I was sitting happy with Wordpress 2.6. Few hours back i upgraded my blog to Wordpress 2.7. There are lot of features that have been added. The first feature you will see as soon as you upgrade your blog is a Brand New look to your Wordpress Dashboard. I was surprised to see that the whole look of Wordpress Administration. Nearly every task you do on your blog will take fewer clicks and be faster in 2.7 than it did in a previous version.
List of Wordpress 2.7 New Features.
- Totally customizable Dashboard and post area
- New User interface & Layout.
- A Sticky post feature
- Built-in Threaded comments support (my current theme doesn’t support,but i will modify the theme to support it. Will also come with a post, so stay tuned!)
- Automatic Wordpress Upgrade
- Reply comments through the admin interface
- AJAX on the administration

As i mentioned above, my current theme does not support Threaded comments. I am right now editing the current theme to get it working. Once i get it working, I will publish a post on how to edit the comments.php to get Threaded comments working. Probably the most interesting feature will be that auto upgrade, rest being only fancy stuff. And I am sure, I will break my theme as well wrt the threaded comments (had that bad experience earlier)
Another thing I need to do is to improve my contact commenters plugin to suite the new admin interface look and feel.

I just upgraded to WP 2.7 and the interface sure looks neat. But I got some problem replying to comments in the admin area. My comment just appeared empty when I reply for the first time. Anyone having the same problem?

@Ajith, you are right. auto upgrade lessens the headache and regd threaded commenting, i have implemented to this theme but not yet made it live because, i am stuck with CSS formatting

It looks great and so many changes too. Glad we have it for free.
Just wanted to say that I finally upgraded to 2.7 and I love it. Usually I would say if it aint broke…but I seriously am glad I upgraded.
