Download WordPress 2.8.3 Security Update
Yesterday, WordPress has made a Security update release. As it is a security release, I recommend all the Blogs that are running on WordPress quickly do the upgrade. It will take just 2 minutes of your time.
The release also has several fixes to the bugs found when WordPress 2.8.1 was released.
You can upgrade automatically to WordPress 2.8.3 from your Dashboard.

upgraded just yesterday .. we can use wordpress automatic upgrade for this

@Atul, i used it but there are some problems so manually painfully upgraded it
And the WordPress juggernaut keeps rolling on. I’m actually battling to keep up with all the updates, I just downloaded 2.8.2 over the weekend. Security is a must though, so obviously the speed of the new updates release is due to a pressing need. The great thing is that the crooks hardly get a chance to exploit any vulnerabilities.
@Goran, Now we all will be waiting for WordPress 2.9 !
Quite right! I wonder what version 3.0 will bring! I saw the offering of SquareSpace earlier. What is your take on their offering? Maybe a post about it will be in order?

The release of WordPress 2.8.3 was unexpected but looking at the no of bugs and error wordpress 2.8.1 and 2.8.2 had, It was much expected update. Though I updated WordPress to 2.8.3 and I can still see few Errors in my dashboard

@Harsh, Yeah you are right. Need to come up with a post which will show what problem i faced and how i resolved it
I upgraded and had no problems at all. I know a few users had issues. I guess there are still errors for some while others have it easy

@George, for me automatic upgrade is not working. i did it manually
2.8.3 seems to have some other bugs like “not being able to move widgets” etc. Its better to skip this update and wait for the next one.
@Raju, hmm. i haven’t had got chance to go to widgets and test this out. let me do it now.
