Google launches URL Shortener service – goo.gl

Google has come into one more space. They have introduced their own URL Shortener Service.

Google URL Shortener is http://goo.gl.

The main point to be noted here is – Google URL Shortener is currently only available for Google products. It cannot be used for your blog or any other site like we use to Shorten the URL using TinyURL.

Google URL Shortener Service will be best for the following reasons:

  • Security: As we do with web search, shortened URLs are automatically checked to detect sites that may be malicious and warn users when the short URL resolves to such sites.
  • Speed: At Google we like fast products and we’ve worked hard to ensure this service is quick. We’ll continue to iterate and improve the speed ofGoogle Url Shortener .
  • Stability: Google’s scalable, multi-datacenter infrastructure provides great uptime and a reliable service to our users.
