YouTube launches its Own URL Shortener Service : Youtu.be

Just few days back, Google Launched URL Shortener service – goo.gl.
Now it is YouTube‘s turn. YouTube have introduced its own URL Shortener service – Youtu.be. It will be used only for YouTube videos.
These days there are lots of URL shortening websites are coming up. URL shortening reduce the long URL’s into shorter URL’s. The service which can make the shortest URL are becoming popular.
Using YouTube’s new URL shortener, YouTube Video Uploaders can add things such as:
- show thumbnails
- embed videos directly
- Real time tracking on video spreading
“Because the link contains the ID of the video you’re going to see, developers can do interesting things like show you thumbnails, embed the video directly, or track how a video is spreading in real-time”.
How to use youtu.be – YouTube URL Shortener service
- Take any Youtube URL. for ex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEdxHgCoXss
- Replace the “http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=” from the above URL with “http://youtu.be/”> to get: http://youtu.be/tEdxHgCoXss
- Put the shorter URL in the browser address bar and hit ENTER. It will redirect to the actual youtube video.

That is useful service for those who are interested in video content only like companies. We will see more thumbnails this way and it is not always pleasant. However, it is not about pleasure, but business.
