    HP to recall HP notebook batteries

    The Laptop / Notebook maker, HP – Hewlett-Packard Co. is going to recall notebook computer batteries. It is due to a problem found in the HP Notebook Batteries.

    The HP Notebook Batteries tend to overheat and can pose a fire hazard.

    The HP battery packs that has this problem were distributed worldwide in a few notebook computers manufactured between August 2007 and May 2008

    If you are HP Notebook computer was purchased and was manufactured between August 2007 and May 2008, then you may have that problem and you are entitled to get the new HP notebook battery replacement.

    “HP fully stands behind the products it makes and has taken a proactive approach to this situation to ensure the safety of our customers and the integrity and quality of our products,”

    Customers with affected products will receive a replacement battery pack for each verified, recalled battery pack at no cost.

      I own a Sony VGN-S460 Notebook. Does anyone know if the battery in my notebook is affected by the recent recall of Sony batteries in Dell computers? I bought my notebook during the period covered by Dell’s recall.

    3. This is one of the reasons why I am such an HP fan. From Texas Instruments days I’ve enjoyed their products, and currently I’m running an HP laptop and an HP LaserJet printer myself.
