Akai India has now entered into an another domain. They have entered into the Indian Mobile market. Akai announced the launch of its 10 brand new Mobile handsets today, September 8, 2010.

Akai Mobile Phones Price range would range between Rs 1,800 to Rs 8,000.

Akai India’s Managing Director, Pranay Dhabhai said,

“We have introduced a range of phones that will cater to the requirements of all segments of consumers across categories. We hope to become a prominent player in the Rs. 700 billion mobile handset market in the coming years.”

“We plan to launch 3G and Android handsets for Indian market around January and the Android handset will cost around Rs 10,000. We are expecting an overall turnover of Rs 435 crore by July 2011 and mobile sales are expected to contribute around 40 per cent of the total revenues, with targeted monthly sales of one lakh handsets from next month.”

Akai Mobile Phones will be available in the Mobile outlets by the end of September end 2010.

It will have dual sim, long lasting battery and large high resolution QVGA screen.

It will have full torch 3-D user interface, wi-fi, wireless FM with recording, compatibility with social networking sites and e-book compatibility.

Akai is also planning to launch 3G models by the end of 2010 and its handsets are already undergoing trails.

Akai Mobile Phone Service / Repair

The Akai Mobile Company has 465 service centers across the length and breadth of the country, of which 218 service centers are dedicated for mobile phone back-up services, right from basic servicing to component level repairs. The company will have a centers to repair mobile chip in Gurgaon, with an investment of about Rs. 5 crores to Rs. 10 crores.
