Toyota, Japanese Giant will be entering into Hatchback Car Segment in India by launching a Car named Etios on 1st of December in Bangalore.
Toyota Etios hatchback Car bookings may start in the month of December 2010 and could be first seen in Toyata Showroom across cities in India in January 2011.
At present in India Toyota is introducing Etios Twins with petrol engines only.
Till now Toyota has launched only MUVs (Innova), SUVs (Fortuner) and Sedans in India. They are launching a hatchback for the first time in Indian Auto Market. By Toyota coming in to fray, the race in small car segment will give a tough competition among other Car makers.
According to some agencies reports:
Etios is targeting a sale of 65,000 units next year. Toyota’s second plant will have an initial annual production capacity of 70,000 units, which could be expanded up to two lakh units. To roll-out its first small car in India Toyota is investing Rs 3,200 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Bangalore. The second plant will first cater to the needs of Etios.
Toyota Etios hatchback car Tech Specs
- It comes with a 1.2-liter petrol engine
- will generate around 80bhp
- Milaige will be close to 20kmpl in the ARAI fuel economy test.
Toyota’s Etios Diesel version will use 1.4-liter diesel engine from Altis diesel.
Toyoto Etios Petrol Expected Price
The expected price of Toyoto Etios will be around 5.5 Lakhs.
