How to Manually Update Nexus S to Android 2.3.3

Android 2.3.3 update for Nexus S has already started. I already mentioned abou the Android 2.3.3 OTA Update for Nexus S. This post will explain on how to manually update Samsung Nexus S to Android 2.3.3 without waiting for Over-To-Air update. The update for Samsung Nexus S has already started, but there is no need to wait for (Over-To-Air) OTA to update. This has been possible because a member at XDA has provided the OTA package that can be used to update your Nexus S manually.

Following are the Steps to manually update Nexus S to Android 2.3.3

    1. Download OTA package provided by XDA.
    2. After download is complete, rename the file as update.zip
    3. Now copy the file to your Nexus S
    4. Switch off the phone and hold volume up + power button to reboot to the bootloader
    5. Navigate using volume key and select recovery option
    6. Press the power button to confirm. You should now see a warning message. Now hold the power and tap volume up
    7. A menu will appear, select “apply update from /sdcard” and choose update.zip
    8. Be patient while your Nexus S phone is getting updated. Once done, the phone will reboot.
