A custom ROM for the HTC Desire HD has been released at XDA Developers. The custom ROM brings the Gingerbread update. The Gingerbread ROM brings lots of features.

GUIDE to to install Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROM on HTC Desire

Root HTC Desire

Once rooting is done, Download ROM
once done copy copy it to the root of the SD card
Reboot HTC Desire into ClockworkMod recovery mode.
Now make a nandroid backup.
Wipe the data, cache and Dalvik cache.
Install the ROM.
Once installation is completed, Reboot the device.

After the ROM is installed in HTC Desire, It will have all the features!
