How to Split the Screen - SplitView
Most of us often work on multiple applications at a time and also need to switch between applications. It becomes very tedious to keep switching between the applications.
If you have a Television or an extra monitor lying around at your home, then Extending your Desktop to LCD/Monitor/TV solves lot of your problems.
To extend the desktop you need extra device - LCD / TV / Monitor. What if you don’t have one?
Well, there is one more solution… Split the Screen or Split the Desktop into two and work with multiple applications without switching between them.
SplitView is an application which enables you to take full advantage of your widescreen or high resolution monitor by enabling you to work with multiple applications at the same time.
Once you install it, you don’t need to fiddle with windows to move or resize them to fit your desktop. Neither do you need to keep alternating between windows using Alt-Tab or the taskbar for simple tasks like copy-pasting or comparing documents. SplitView transforms a large single monitor system into a multi-monitor system enabling you to focus on your work, not on window management.
SplitView can split the screen not only in two parts, but it can split it into N equal parts.

Finally Yahoo! has officially released final version of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0.
Yahoo has released its popular IM for Windows XP and Vista, and comes packed with many new features including the new and improved user-interface.
The most interesting feature that I would like to mention first is the Pingbox, a new application that you can embed into your blog, website or social network page where visitors can IM you anonymously (or they can identify themselves) and you can also reply them back without revealing your Yahoo! ID.

VideoLAN has released VLC media player 0.9.2.
This new version of VLC comes with a new interface. It will now also support many new codecs and protocols.

Sysinternals team from Microsoft has released a tool for windows called Desktops.

Using this tool you can have four virtual desktops at the same time. You can have multiple applications running and arrange related programs/applications in one desktop window. multimedia and chat applications on another virtual desktop window. This will make managing your desktop easy.
The software runs in your Windows taskbar. And you can very easily switch from one virtual desktop to another by pressing the keyboard shortcut or through your mouse.
