If you glance over the sidebar, you will see a yellow color small widget with a number on it. Check below i have put the same tiny widget here.
The number on that widget is the number of visitors/readers currently on this site.
It is a great widget. I have been using it since December 2007.
What is who.amung.us?
whos.amung.us was created to bring you innovative web stats. We are not traditional. Page views are too easy to count. Today, I will show you a very useful wordpress plugin that i discovered recently.
The name of this Wordpress plugin is Broken links Remover. Rajesh from TechBlissOnline has developed this great plugin. If you like this plugin you can vote for the plugin in the wordpress 2008 competition here
Broken Links Remover checks your posts for broken links. If it finds one then it will make that link as normal text so that your readers will not see any dead links.
This plugin will help keep your site clean by hiding all bad/broken links. As soon as it finds a bad or broken link, it will notify the link with appropriate post under Manage -> Bad Links Wordpress admin page. You can check below the snapshot of my blog, there are 5 pages of bad links. I have to go through all and correct it

VideoLAN has released VLC media player 0.9.2.
This new version of VLC comes with a new interface. It will now also support many new codecs and protocols.
Interface - A new interface module based on the Qt toolkit has been added to VLC.
This new interface module has a few improvements on the old one:
- Simplified settings and dialogs
- Media library integration
- Album art displaying and metadata editing
- Live activation of Video and audio filters
- Basic encoding profiles
- Multiple start modes (classic, enhanced and minimalist)
- System tray icon and minimizing
- Fullscreen controller

For all savvy mac users... Google has released Gears for Safari Browser.
Gears for Safari!
To use Gears, you must have version 3.1.1 or higher of Safari along with a machine running the most recent build of OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or 10.5.3 (Leopard).
It offers the same offline-goodness as its Windows counterpart, which is to say you'll get limited offline file access and optimization on the handful of Web applications that support it.
The bad news is Gears is still not available for Windows version of Safari.
It is good news for all Mac users who blog on Wordpress platform because Google gears is supported by Wordpress.
