Extract RAR and ZIP files using PeaZip Archive Manager

Most of us daily come across compressed files in mostly two formats .RAR and .ZIP. We use Winzip and WinRAR to decompress and compress them. But, both of them are not free. They come in evaluated version. We need to purchase it to get it a full version which won't show annoying wait message.

To avoid all this, You could try using this new PeaZip to extract RAR and ZIP files. "PeaZip Archive Manger" is an open source application. It also supports other formats other than RAR and ZIP formats.

In total it supports 87 formats. The good thing about this is, it also supports Linux compression formats like tar, gz, etc., PeaZip uses advanced compression and encryption standards and provides the flexibility of using it as standalone or portable application.

Easeus Partition Manager 3.0 Review

Few days back, I was contacted by a person who is working for CHENGDU YIWO Tech Development Co., Ltd who asked me to do a Review of Easeus Partition Manager 3.0.

Do you know what was the coincidence? I have used this software before. So, it makes my job easier.

I have been using Partition Managers from last 7-8 years. Starting from Fdisk (Dos utility), PowerQuest’s Partition Magic (now Symantec Partition Magic), Paragon Partition Manager and many more. I liked Partition Magic and used for lot of years. Last year, i happened to see this new Partition Manager called Easeus Partition Manager.

Resize Images using PIXresizer

I have found lot of freeware tools and web services which offer image resizing and image conversion.

Today, i found a tool. I liked it and would like to share with you.

PIXresizer, a free photos resizer

With this you can easily create web and e-mail friendly versions of your images with reduced file sizes. It can automatically recognize image sizes to calculate the best fit and supports popular image formats like JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG and TIFF.

When you resize an image, the new re sized image is saved in a different folder leaving the original image unchanged. It offers lot of resizing methods to choose from and can automatically recognize image sizes to calculate the best fit.

It has also a conversion in-built which can convert images to these formats (JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG and TIFF), rotate images, convert to grayscale and resize multiple images in batch mode.

I found this very useful especially when i put images in the blog posts. The feature i like the most is Resize images in bulk

How to Launch Multiple Apps with a Single Click – Lacuna Launcher

I think most of you do the same as me. After i boot my PC, I always launch a set of applications. But opening one by one will be a slow process. What if you wish to launch all applications at one go with a single click?

Lacuna Launcher is the free program that allows you to open any number of applications or files with a single click. This can be done by putting all list of files you want to open in a file called "list.txt" which comes with this utility. Lacuna Launcher will then read the list.txt file and start opening all the applications listed in it. The list in the list.txt can include applications (.exe), shortcuts (.lnk), Internet shortcuts (.url), images, music, movies, anything that is a file on your system that you wish to open.
