Broadband has negated the need for a download manger for me. I got 3G and ADSL, life is good! I vividly remember the days of hours long downloads crashing 80% through, and sure wish I had a download manager back then.

I’m using it with Firefox and very happy with it. Sometimes, when we have some other important works that need internet bandwidth, we can pause the download to give way for our work. That is an additional point of advantages.

I thought people are going slow on programs such as DAP as bandwidth is getting cheaper and better. Moreover, the modern browsers themselves do a lot of download optimizing. @Venkat, I didn’t mention that DAP has the problm. DAP has resume option enabled.

Nihar As you mentioned there are always problem with these downloaders as they don't support resume ,this is not he case with IDM it's very fast and resume option also available. venkats last blog post..Tweak to Bring Back IE7 Menu to the Top

I used to have Download managers last time (GetRight, Free Download Manager) but since I have an ADSL connection, I don’t find it necessary to use it anymore
