This was great. And would you believe it… my Initial value was NOT a number from zero to seven,it was in fact ten numbers………… that is, 2146483648.

@Chris, Not sure why it reverted back for you. I think you have some software which reverts any manual registry changes

This isn’t working for me. is this supposed to work with USB keyboards too? After a restart, the registry entry is reverted back to 2

I have never noticed this. I am more like you, num lock on, everything else off, thats how I like it. and I guess thats the default setting of windows. Wow, thanks for sharing this, will come handy sometime, maybe when the americans start liking Caps lock on a default setting!
