You and your friends can then have conversation or work on the document using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Like Gmail invites in the past, Google has decided to give access to Google Wave via invitations. It is not for everyone. But, if you have a friend who has Google Wave can send you an invite. Google started sending out invitations yesterday for the limited preview of Google Wave to the first 100,000 signups for Wave.
