    Yesterday, Google instroduced a new service – Global Public DNS. They claim that DNS Service will make internet connection Faster.

    What is DNS?

    DNS stands for Domain Name System. It is a protocol use to map website address to IP Addresses which Computers can understand. It serves as the Internet’s phone book: every time you visit a website, your computer performs a DNS lookup. Complex pages often require multiple DNS lookups before they start loading, so your computer may be performing hundreds of lookups a day.

    The best Public DNS Service right now that i know is OpenDNS. I am using it right now for my Broadband connection. It is very fast. I will check Google’s Global Public DNS and will compare the DNS lookup.
