    Improving your system speed by adding additional memory is not a difficult task. You can either upgrade the memory by Installing RAM Modules or there is a much easier way to Increase the Memory of your System. You can do this using a Pen Drive (Flash Drive).

    Yes, Just use your Pen Drive (flash drive) for this. Windows Vista and Windows 7 can use your pen drive as a additional memory cache. Microsoft introduced Windows ReadyBoost in Windows Vista and Windows 7 Operating System. It relies on the intelligent memory management of Windows SuperFetch and can significantly improve system responsiveness. This is called Ready Boost

    This feature is most useful in situations, where some applications required more Memory. You can improve memory from 512 MB to 8 GB. Just insert your pen drive or Secure Digital (SD) Memory card in USB and follow the simple steps explained here with screen shots.

    4 Steps to Increase Speed of your Computer with Pen / USB Drive

    Step 1

    As soon as you insert the Pen Drive. Following Screen will appear. Click on speed up my system from the list.

    Step 2

    Select the Radio button use this device. After this enter the size in MB, this much space will be used by system. Click on OK .

    In this example, I gave 2048 MB space, this means system will use 2 GB of space from the Pen Drive.

    Step 3

    If you observe the files in the Pen Drive following 2 GB file can be seen.

    Step 4

    If you want to remove ReadyBoost space and use Pen Drive for normal use. Right click on the Pen Drive (Drive Letter). Click on Properties. Now select Do not use this Device, and then press OK
