    How to add Unread Emails Count to Gmail Favicon with New Gmail Labs


    Google have introduced a new Gmail Labs feature – Unread message icon.

    Assume that you have lots of tabs opened in your browser along with your Gmail Inbox. To find out the Unread messages in your Gmail, you have to switch to the tab and check the unread count.

    But from now on with this new Gmail Labs feature, You will know the Unread Count by just looking at the address. Just notice the Favicon of Gmail and you should see the count. Just like below image.

    How to Add Unread Emails Count to Gmail Favicon

    1. Login to Gmail
    2. go to the Labs tab in Settings
    3. Enable Unread message icon, and click the “Save Changes” button

    4. This change will only work on Chrome (version 6 and above) and Firefox (version 2 and above) browsers
