    GRPH Report – Graphite Corp

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of GRPH. All opinions are 100% mine.

Graphite is one of the world’s most important mineral.

    What is Graphite ?

Graphite is a mineral and it is an allotrope of carbon. It was named by Abraham Gottlob Werner in 1789. Graphite is an electrical conductor, a semimetal. Graphite is the most stable form of carbon under standard conditions. Graphite has a layered, planar structure. In each layer, the carbon atoms are arranged in a hexagonal lattice with separation of 0.142 nm, and the distance between planes is 0.335 nm.

    Where Graphite is found ?

Graphite occurs in metamorphic rocks as a result of the reduction of sedimentary carbon compounds during metamorphism. It also occurs in igneous rocks and in meteorites. Minerals associated with graphite include quartz, calcite, micas and tourmaline. In meteorites it occurs with troilite and silicate minerals.

Major Exporters of Graphite are :

    • China
    • India
    • Brazil
    • North Korean
    • Canada

Interestingly Graphite is not mined in US, But US graphite consumption was 42 kt.

Graphite is used in these Industries

    • Refractories
    • Batteries
    • Steelmaking
    • Brake linings
    • Foundry facings and lubricants
    • Pencils

As you can see why Graphite is one of the most important mineral. It is used in many industries.

Natural graphite has found uses in zinc-carbon batteries, in electric motor brushes, and various specialized applications. Graphite is also commonly used in the form of powders, and sticks for the purpose of writing or drawing. Graphite of various hardness or softness results in different qualities and tones when used as an artistic medium.

There is also Synthetic Graphite. A process to make synthetic graphite was invented by Edward Goodrich Acheson (1856–1931). In the mid 1890s, Acheson discovered that overheating carborundum, which he is also credited with discovering, produced almost pure graphite.

There are also various usage of Synthetic Graphite. They are used to manufacture :

    • Electrodes
    • Powder and scrap
    • Neutron moderator

Due to explosion in the usage of electronic devices like mobile phones, laptops, iPads, etc., where almost all the devices uses lithium-ion battery. Due to this phenomenon, there is a extra need in the lithium-ion battery segment where as much as 30-times more graphite is needed in production than lithium itself!

Because of this usage in lithium, Graphite becomes one of most important raw materials in modern electronics and industry. Despite that, The United States has not produced graphite in over 20 years. All of it is imported.

As you can see thought United States has the graphite as the natural resource there is no mining and from last 20 years, graphite is being imported. This makes the cost of the graphite go higher and also all the devices or materials which is manufactured using Graphite.

    Graphite in Lithium Ion Batteries

Li ion batteries are smaller, lighter and more powerful than traditional batteries. They also have no memory effect and a very low rate of discharge when not in use. As a result, most portable consumer devices such as laptops, cell phones, MP3 players and digital cameras use Li ion batteries and they have now moved into power tools as well. While this market is growing rapidly, the batteries are small and the resultant demand for metal is relatively small. Graphite demand in Lithium ion batteries was estimated at 44,000 tonnes in 2008 or about 10 per cent of the flake market.

    Benefits of Domestic Graphite Production

    • Reduce the Graphite cost.
    • Cost of all the devices, materials which are made up of Graphite.
    • More employment in the US due to graphite mining opening up.

    Who is Graphite Corp ?

Graphite Corp (OTC: GRPH) is a development stage company exclusively focused on the exploration and development of one of the greatest success stories in recent mining history – the Graphite mining sector.

Targeting graphite-bearing properties in the United States, the Company is positioned to emerge as a leading pure-play exploration company through the development of its strategic land positions in Alabama and Montana, the heartland of America’s most significant graphite resource.

Investors can gain by investing in Graphite Corp

As you can see, for nearly 20 years US hasn’t done any graphite mining and now they are going to start and Graphite Corp company is leading into graphite exploration. I can strongly foresee that those who invest in Graphite Corp will have huge returns.

    OTCQB Symbol : GRPH
    Current Price: $0.80
    Near Forecast: $2.00
    Long Forecast: greater than $6.00
